Community Fund

The Ginsburg Community Fund is committed to enriching the communities in the New York counties of Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange and the southern tier of Connecticut.

The Fund was formally established in 2004 by Martin Ginsburg, the principal of Ginsburg Development Companies to commemorate GDC's 40th anniversary. Based in Valhalla, N.Y., GDC is one of the nation's premier full-service real estate design, development and management companies.

General Policies:
1. Preference is given to small and medium-sized organizations, municipalities or individuals serving the New York counties of Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange and to the Connecticut counties of Fairfield and Hartford.

2. The Ginsburg Community Fund makes grants for operating support, start-up support/seed money programs, and organizational capacity building or technical assistance.

3. Grants will generally range from $1,000 up to $25,000, either as single or multiple year grants. GDC reserves the right to exceed the range.

4. All organizations must include detailed, written progress reports using the Ginsburg Community Fund reporting form within 6 months of completion of the grant period.

5. Organizations that have submitted unsuccessful grant applications are permitted to re-submit applications in the following cycle.

6. The Ginsburg Community Fund does not normally provide grants for public schools, awards programs, health programs, or religious instruction or worship services.

7. The Ginsburg Community Fund is governed by a panel of judges composed of members of the management team of Ginsburg Development Companies, LLC and assisted by outside consultants in special areas of expertise, which have full authority and discretion to evaluate and award grants.

Applications must be completed and submitted by April 1st and/or December 1st each year.

Applications must include the following:

1. Proposal Summary. Include a one-page description of the project and how the funds will be utilized.

2. The amount and source of all other funds received or committed for expenditure on the project, program, or purpose for which the grant is requested.
(Please limit to one page.)

3. Audited financial statements for the two most recently completed fiscal years and/or the applicant's IRS Form 990 returns for the two most recently completed tax years or otherwise establish fiduciary responsibility to receive grant.

4. Do Not Include video tapes, CDs, or books. Photos are welcome. Attach all documents with a large binder clip and display application form on top.
